CONSULTATION SERVICE *Consultation Rate Applies (See "Service Rates"
below.)
Most services will begin with a Consultation Service, but this one-time on-site Consultation is also available for the client
who is only interested in hearing ideas and recommendations for solutions that he/she intends to tackle on their own.
You will receive a packet full of suggestions and handouts you can refer to even if you choose to do your
own purging and organizing.
I will provide as much information about organizing skills as possible during the initial consultation. We will assess
what works and what doesn't work in your areas of concern, then discuss some options and creative solutions to each problem.
The
average consultation lasts about two hours, but could be anywhere from one to three hours depending on your
clutter concerns. The consultation will be insightful, informative, and inspiring. If successful, it
will motivate you to follow through with many of the recommendations made, and give you the tools to implement what you've
learned into your future.
FULL
ORGANIZING SERVICE
**Normal Hourly Rates Apply after Initial
Consultation (See "Service Rates" below.) The
initial consultation as described above is provided at the *consultation rate. With
your permission I may take measurements and pictures for planning. I will travel to your home or business
and together we will determine your needs and wishes. I will offer ideas and suggestions as to how we can simplify
your life and make your wishes come true.
We will
then schedule a time to purge. I will help you sort and purge your belongings as described under Purge
Pal Support (below). It is vital that you are involved
in the purging process because nothing will be purged or trashed without your permission.
Then I'll design and implement your newly organized area to meet your needs within
your budget. You will not need to be present for the implementation, unless you want to be. This
part of the project inculdes catagorizing, containerizing, labeling, placement storing and presentation of
all the items you decided to keep. The challenge
here will be knowing how to organize the systems so they will work for you. You and the
other people in your home or office will have your own specific needs that may or may not meet the needs in another
home or office. I will learn about those needs during the purging session. This will help me organize
your new system based on those needs and your daily habits and routines.
We can then schedule a follow-up session to make any adjustments as needed. Follow-ups
are a great way to stay on top of ever-changing needs. Families grow and situations change. Having a
good system (foundation) in place will keep any future adjustments to the system at bay.
COACHING SESSIONS **Normal Hourly
Rate Applies (See "Service Rates" below.)
Coaching is an on-going service during which I will assist you over several sessions. This is a
perfect solution to jump-start your organized life. The sessions may be anywhere from one to six hours intended
to complete individual projects one at a time. Often this is the best solution for most
clients. We will begin with a Consultation Service as described above to assess your needs and determine your habits.
Then we can schedule on-going coaching sessions at once/week, once/month, once/quarter - whatever works for you.
During these coaching sessions, we will work together on a project then assign homework for you to complete before our next
session. We will evaluate your progress one or two projects at a time, and assess the next project as we go.
Together, we will set project goals and priorities, and as your coach, I will help guide and encourage you to keep at it.
This solution tends to be the most budget-friendly and least stressful option because it's spread out into smaller
sessions over longer periods of time, as opposed to several long days all in a row to tackle everything all at once.
PURGE
PAL SUPPORT **Normal
Hourly Rate Applies (See "Service Rates" below.) Some people just want
a pal to help them purge their clutter. If this sounds like you, this could be all you need.
We can schedule a purge over the phone. We will begin the purge with a "mini-consultation" at the
normal hourly rate. This option will allow you to do your own shopping for the types of organizational tools that
I will recommend after the purge. It's also a great option for people preparing to move into a new home, or if you've
already moved and need help sorting through all those boxes when you unpack (See Specials!)
During
the purge session, I will help you sort, purge and temporarily containerize your items, then give
you suggestions and ideas so you can organize and store them at your own will. I can promise I will not be judgemental
in anyway and there is no need for you to be embarrassed about your surroundings or situation at hand. I will professionally and
compassionately support and assist you during the purge. I will encourage you to keep the end goal in mind, and
ask numerous questions about the questionable items. The final decision whether or not to keep an item will
be yours and yours alone. I may "push" but I won't "shove."
Following the
purge, you may discover that it was the purging holding you back, not the organizing. Even
so, I will still help you determine your needs to make the space better organized. We will discuss what types of
storage options will work best for you and I'll help you plan the space. You will know what to look for and
how to finish the organizing on your own at your own pace. However, you still
have the option to continue with full organizing services, should you decide organization truly isn't for you,
or if you just don't want to deal with the shopping and organizing to finish the job. Either way, my continued
services are still an option.
GROUP SPEAKING ***Speaking Rate
Applies (See "Hourly Rates" below.) Group speaking is another service available to
groups, clubs, and organizations of all kinds. These can run from one to two hour long engagements and can be specialized
toward the group as a whole. I will speak about basic organizing skills and interact with the group by taking questions
and offering suggestions for specific organizational challenges each group member may have.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
What better gift is there to give someone who doesn't need anything, except
time? Some may hesitate to give a gift of organizing services for
fear of offending the recipient. However, today's world is so full of busy schedules and demands, we all get backed
up and put off what "we can do tomorrow." As a professional organizer, even I would gladly accept the
help every now and then. This is NOT a service that is only needed
by the chronically disorganized. It's one everyone can use to gain peace in their lives. Haven't we all said "there's
just not enough time in a day?" Gift
Certificates can be purchased for any amount and applied toward any service. They make an excellent HOUSE-WARMING GIFT for someone moving into a new home, and
a great gift for NEWLYWEDS or COUPLES preparing to combine two lives or homes into one. Give
one to a HOMEMAKER who can't seem to get to that basement or attic, the BACHELOR who needs
to get his pad in order, the PACK-RAT who may never conquer those "hidden" belongings, or
the PROCRASTINATOR who continues to avoid the garage. Even just a couple hours of purging assistance could entice them to continue on
their own. Your gift could be all they need to change their lives for the better, and may be their favorite gift
of all.
SERVICE RATES and Other Costs and Fees We Accept: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Checks, & Cash. *The Consultation rate of
$95.00 plus travel fees will
apply for any consultation service. **The
Normal hourly rate of $45.00 per hour plus travel fees will apply for sorting, purging,
coaching, planning, product research, purchasing, and organizing. ***There is currently is no charge for Speaking Engagements
Your Cost of organizational supplies and any other purchases,
or other hired services (such as additional help, construction, or specialized installations) are extra at no additional mark-up
to you. More often than not, jobs are simply too big for just
the client and myself to handle. In these cases, I have contracted additional help, usually from local young
adults. In general, they are paid at or just above the current minimum wage rates per hour. If and when additional
help is needed, their pay is added onto the client's bill. In the long run, having the helpers
will save the client money because they will dramatically cut down my time by assisting in the physical
needs of the job producing much faster results. Travel Fees:
I will
gladly travel within a 60-mile radius of Maroa, Illinois, which easily includes Decatur/Forsyth, Springfield, Champaign/Urbana,
Bloomington/Normal, and beyond. Travel fees will not apply if your home or business is within 30
miles. Anything beyond the 30 mile radius will be charged a fee based on the current mileage rate as set by

A Word About Hourly Rates Nationwide, Professional Organizers charge
anywhere between $50 and $200 or more per hour. My rate has been set based on many factors to be fair both to myself
as a business owner, and to my market area who may not be familiar with this fairly new profession. As
with any business owner, I have business related expenses such as advertising, training, insurance,
travel, taxes, and others. I pay a membership fee to belong to NAPO, through whom I take classes and attend conferences
at NAPO-membership rates to keep up on the industry and get on-going PO training.
Regardless of business expenses, I am providing a service. One that you will receive many long-term
benefits from. In many ways, my service can be considered a life-coaching experience. I am here to coach
you on how to re-think organizing possibilities in your home, as well as in your life. I will assist you in the
physical aspects such as sorting and purging, but mostly, my mission is to coach you in decision-making, analyzing,
and re-thinking your organizing processes. I will help you throughout, and work with you in a way that will inspire
you to take what you have learned onto other areas in your home, life, and self.
